Q&A: How Do I Win Back Lost Customers?
Just talk to them. No, that doesn’t mean spamming them with emails. It means having a genuine conversation.
Give them a call or, if you know their social media handle, send them a DM. (That’s much more personal than a boilerplate email.) Then, just be humble and upfront. Let them know that you’re interested in hearing their feedback—the good and the bad—so you can improve in the future.
You have nothing to lose by reaching out. In the best-case scenario, you impress a customer and bring them back to your business. In the worst-case scenario, you gain some valuable feedback that you can use to improve your business for your other customers.
That’s why, before you focus on bringing in new customers, you need to find out why you’re losing the ones you had. Otherwise, you’re just building a revolving door of dissatisfied customers.
