Q&A: What are Your Tips for Gaining Potential Customers (Not Just Followers) on Social Media? #MichaelsWilder #ask #askmeanything #askmikespeer Click To Tweet

At first glance, social media seems like it’s all about grabbing attention, so it’s easy to fall into the trap of creating content that gets clicks but not customers.

If you want both, you need to add value to your audience. Consider what problems your target audience is experiencing, and offer a solution. Create content that educates and empowers them to make those positive changes—either by themselves or with your help.

Step away from the clickbait, and focus on quality.

You can have an attention-grabbing image or headline, but you need to also consider the actual substance as well. How does this piece of content help my audience? Does it appeal specifically to the type of person I’m trying to attract to my business? These are the questions you should be asking yourself.

Yes, you may not get as many “curiosity clicks,” but the leads your generate will be of higher quality when you create strategic content tailored to your audience and designed to provide value.
