Q&A: What is Your Personal Motto?
There are two ways to have the tallest building in town. One is to tear everyone else’s down and the other is to build yours taller. -Jim Rohn
My personal motto reflects that fact that I don’t deal in underhanded business tactics. I achieve success by being the hardest worker in the room, not by sabotaging others. If someone else works just as hard, if not more so, that’s not threatening to me. It’s inspiring.
In the past, I’ve struggled with working in environments where my coworkers were not supportive. They thought that anyone who excelled made them look bad. As a result, I’ve become more selective about who I choose to work with. I want to surround myself with fellow builders—the people who focus on making something that inspires them. We’re all working together to build a shining city.
As for the destroyers, the ones who revel in other people’s failures, they will be left with nothing but rubble.
