Save Time with Instagram Quick Replies

Managing your business’s social media can feel like a full-time job. Sure, you can schedule your posts for months in advance, but you can’t just set it and forget it. You need to take the time to respond with the people who take the time to reach out and connect.

While it’s great to see people engaging with your brand, it can quickly become an overwhelming task to personally respond to each and every message you receive.

That’s where Instagram “quick replies” come to your rescue! IG quick replies are canned messages that you can easily insert into conversations. Simply write out a message in advance, and save it for later!

Here’s how:

  1. Open your profile and open the sidebar (the three lines in the top-right corner of the screen). Then go to “Settings.”
  2. Under “Business Settings,” tap “Quick Replies.”
  3. To create a new Quick Reply, tap the “+” button.
  4. Craft your message, and create a shortcut that will trigger the quick reply to appear.
  5. Once you’re done, click “Save.”

If you find yourself constantly writing the same response to common questions, writing out a standard quick reply will save you a lot of time in the future. Or, if a user sends you a message asking for help with a more specific problem, you can send a quick reply with instructions for reaching out to your customer support email. Instagram quick replies are also helpful for when you need to keep a consistent brand voice even when there are several people managing an account.

Sometimes there’s just no substitute for a thoughtful and heartfelt response. So, choose wisely, and learn to recognize when it is and isn’t okay to take shortcuts. #MichaelsWilder #socialmediamarketing Click To Tweet

To get started, take a look at your direct messages. What questions are you getting on a regular basis? Can those questions be answered with a simple template? Those frequently asked questions are perfect for creating a quick reply.

To make your messages more personal, you also have the option to customize any quick reply before you send it along. After you type the shortcut into your response, you can go ahead and make any changes you need to tailor it to the person you’re speaking to. Just keep in mind that overusing Instagram quick replies and failing to personalize your responses can make your brand appear impersonal and cold.

Sometimes there’s just no substitute for a thoughtful and heartfelt response. So, choose wisely, and learn to recognize when it is and isn’t okay to take shortcuts. And, if you want a little help managing your social media presence (because, let’s face it, one person can’t do it all!), Michaels Wilder is here to help.
